Apologies for not posting these past couple of weeks- about a month ago I made one of the biggest transitions in my life and moved back to New York from Florida. This has been a time of great obstacles: between finding an apartment and starting a new job, I’d be lying if I said I wasn’t overwhelmed but feeling terribly excited at the same time. One of the hardest parts about my move was saying goodbye to my beautiful family in a place that was nothing short of paradise. Every now and then I get asked the question, “why the hell did you move up here.” The truth is there is no other city that is as invigorating and stimulating to live in than New York, I just couldn’t help but be a part of that.
These photos were taken during one of my last days spent at home. Before I left I used every opportunity possible for basking in the sun in order to brace myself for the seasonally confusing weather New York has been having. I wore my favorite Urban Outfitters swimsuit with these interesting daisy shaped cutouts (that are actually quite flattering) and enjoyed searching for shells and playing in the sand as if I was still a child. Despite my desire to live in a big city, I will always be a Florida girl at heart. There are so many things about coming back to my roots that inspire my work every day.
I took a more personal spin on this post because I think it is important to share certain milestones in hopes of being relatable. At the end of the day I am just a girl in her twenties motivated to grow a life and career. The truth is there are still a lot of things I have left to figure out, but that is the exciting part. This is the time when the transitions that bring obstacles will only push you to grow stronger. With that said, my motto for the year is to trust the magic of new beginnings whilst staying true to my roots. Keep you updated!
