Remember when I wrote that Australians do fashion better? Well, the same thing goes for coffee. On one of the sunniest days in New York City, I ended up at this green coffee joint called Toby’s Estate in Williamsburg. Already beaten down by the sun, I was looking to make a pit-stop and reboot with some caffeine. To my surprise, I entered a world of coffee that I did not know existed. This Australian coffee house was uniquely designed to create an inviting atmosphere for just about anyone. I’ll go into more detail about the ambiance later, but the best part of my experience was when I learned that their attention to design went far beyond the cafe setting. Toby’s Estate was also proudly sustainable!
Companies that practice sustainability have really been catching my attention recently. Whether they are in the lifestyle, beauty, or fashion category, I am always impressed when the ethos of a business is more than just their bottom line. This is so important given the current environmental challenges our world is facing. Toby’s Estate establishes relationships with coffee producers based on trust, traceability, and fair prices. Environmental factors are the main consideration in both their buying processes and roasting practices. They are direct from farm business that does not compromise quality, freshness, or style!
Their rich and strong organic coffee is delightfully refreshing to drink. It’s one of those places that you visit to feel right at home: between their warm and friendly baristas, communal tables, and the compartmented shelf with vintage shop finds that serves as a show-stopping piece. Toby’s Estate did an impeccable job creating a synergy between green living, unique design, quality coffee, and style. I highly recommend everything on their menu, including the delectable pastries and sandwiches.
