The Pantone Color Institute and Fashion Snoops collaborate every season to report on the biggest fashion color trends seen at New York Fashion Week. This Fall/Winter was all about earth tones and exuberant pops of vibrant colors, like oceans of red shades. Give it up for Aurora Red to be your bold, warm, sensual, and pleasing color to wear now. According to Pantone, the color “gets the metaphorical blood of the palette pumping,” creating an exciting and dynamic shade to give an extra punch to your wardrobe this season.

I happened to find this Aurora Red coat at Zara on a trip to visit my family in D.C. I had actually seen the coat once before at a neighborhood Zara but was hesitant to purchase such a bold statement. It wasn’t until my mother convinced me on how awesome it looked that I decided to risk of interjecting this vibrant shade into my color scheme. I realized how powerful wearing red can be, I instantly felt more playful and enthusiastic; the color bred an unmistakable confidence in me.

When it is so easy to wear black during the cold months, we miss out on the excitement of taking color risks in our wardrobe. Experimenting with colors every season is just as important as trying new styles. Whether you are looking to make a statement by wearing an Aurora Red coat or just accenting your look with some lipstick, I strongly encourage you to try this thrilling red color. More or less, you can’t go wrong with a confidence inviting, palette enhancing, and compelling color like Aurora Red!
