Spring has sprung, but it sure doesn’t feel like it here in NY. This past month I’ve had to break out my winter wardrobe to brace the unpleasant weather we are having. You know, I really thought I was being strategic by moving to the city at the end of February in hopes of catching the tail end of the cold weather. To my dismay, mother nature decided to laugh at my plans only leaving me seasonally confused. Luckily, I was able to snatch a few things online before the winter sales ended and bought myself this Forever 21 faux shearling coat for a ridiculously low price.
When it comes to coats and jackets, this is the time to buy them. I always stock up on winter wardrobe staples in the Spring because the silhouettes don’t change much from season to season. Some people find it less exciting to continue buying clothes for a season that just ended and to be honest it kind of is. However, it is one of those things where you will thank yourself later. On the brighter side, the satin top that I am wearing underneath the coat is something I look forward to wearing alone once it does get warmer.
Satin is HUGE this season. I love the versatility of this fabric, it is easily dressed up or down. Here I paired it with my 90s inspired “Mom” jeans from American Apparel and last weekend I wore it with satin black pants to dinner. Satin has this cooling quality that is much needed on the days where it gets super hot. I also love the sheen it possesses, making it an all the more exciting white top. See you guys next week- hopefully it will be a less seasonally confused look!
