GUESS established a global lifestyle brand for women, men, and kids in the 1980s centered around their infamous denim. The label redefined denim and created a mega-brand symbolizing a young, sexy and adventurous lifestyle. After celebrating its 35th anniversary this year, GUESS is making a major comeback in the eyes of young adults!
I remember being a young kid in school and coveting the inverted triangle logo that showed you were wearing GUESS. So it is exciting and nostalgic to see fashion putting this brand in the spotlight again. I was also stoked to see an Urban Outfitters exclusive collection with Guess online a few weeks ago. I love how the collection put a spin on denim by color blocking some of the pieces.
I think there will always be this mystique and cool factor surrounding the GUESS label. Take for example A$AP Rocky, the ultimate cool guy in fashion right now, announcing his second collab with the label. It is awesome to see a brand with such strong heritage come back in style. Particularly since fashion continues to gain inspiration from the 80s, I imagine we won’t be able to get enough of this sexy & cool brand come Spring!
