Now is the time to place all your bets on denim. Many designers capitalized on denim trend for Spring, bringing a few new styles into the mix. Denim has always been a staple and more than ever we can’t do without it. Its versatility and classic Americana roots make it a staple for all wardrobes. The best part about owning good denim is that you can dress it up or down, it always acts as your closet chameleon. Whether you decide to wear denim on denim or pair it with a tee, denim will always be a girl’s best friend.
I have been seeking a new pair of jeans for quite some time, specifically in a darker shade. I was inspired by looks seen on the Coach and Cinq a Sept runways where the models sported dark denim in all varieties. I finally found a pair at APC made by a line they carry called Vanessa Seward. Seward’s line of denim is known for its minimalistic style centered around chic. What I like most about her jeans is the perfectly high waisted fit compared to some of the other low-waist jeans I tried on. I styled them with a pocket chain accessory for an added cool-girl touch.
One of my favorite looks to wear is denim on denim, and if done right it can be the ultimate jean statement. The best way to pull off head-to-toe denim is to try a few variations. Ladies, I know you have a ton of denim in your closet, pull out a few coordinating sets and see which ones look best together. Denim on denim doesn’t have to match perfectly, as you can tell my jacket is a brighter blue shade and still pairs with the jeans nicely. Take some time experimenting and see what feels most comfortable; of course, avoid looking like you just stepped out of a rodeo. Good luck! Xx
