Hey, friends! It has been quite a while since I’ve posted on here! Truthfully, I was over-ambitious with the amount of time, energy, and resources I had to create content consistently. Over the past couple of months, I started to get more gigs as a Wardrobe Stylist and found it a challenge to balance my blog with other work responsibilities.
I’m sorry I left you all in the dark without explaining why I was taking a 2-month hiatus. Every time I tried to re-engage with this platform, I had something pop up in my schedule that took precedence. Life just got in the way of the things, but that doesn’t mean I forgot about blogging! With that said, I now have more availability and plan on under-promising how much content I can create with hopes to over-deliver!
I guess the best way to give this new chapter of blogging a go is to explain what inspired my outfit… A few months back, I watched the movie ‘Working Girl’ from the 80s starring Melanie Griffith who plays Tess, a working-class woman with ambitions to trade in the title of “Secretary” for something more. When Tess gets her big break, she feels the need to dress in femme versions of a man, wearing things such as oversized blazers and suiting.
As I admired the bold style moments in the film, I realized how fashion is currently resurrecting the 80s both on the runway and streets. I was immediately inspirited to buy a power suit of my own and accessorize it with a fanny pack, because what’s an 80s look without one. My favorite thing about this set is that I can maximize my outfits by utilizing the pieces separately. Hope you all have a great weekend! Thanks for reading! 🙂
