Viva La Velvet

Juggling between multiple freelancing jobs—keeps me running around the city, which requires comfortable wardrobe choices. But that sure as hell doesn’t mean I want to sacrifice my style, so I try and strike a balance between the two. One of my favorite fabrics right now is velvet, simply because it is both luxe and cozy. Whether it is in the form of a pantsuit or slip dressvelvet has become my sumptuous staple for any occasion.

With 90s fashion making a comeback, velvet naturally becomes a game changer for your wardrobe. I love how this rich fabric is a magical accent for pulling a look together. Velvet is here to stay, some style experts are even saying that it is becoming the new suede. But what is most exciting about it is all the interesting styles velvet comes in! Brands are getting really creative with it, I mean you can even buy a baseball hat made of the fabric.

I found this vintage Gucci pantsuit for $50 at a consignment shop in Florida which satisfied my desires to stay comfortable/stylish. Pantsuit has become super popular to wear casually this year, even though they still mean business. I’m just happy I found one in velvet to incorporate into my street style mix for the season. There just isn’t any other fabric that is as simultaneously cozy and chic like this one!
