You’ve heard this from me once before: not being able to wear white after Labor Day is the most outdated fashion “rule” there ever lived. I’ve always been one to ignore rules—I just hate the thought of abiding by someone else’s standards—especially in fashion where creativity shouldn’t be limited. Irrespective of the season, you should be able to wear white whenever you want and do so unapologetically!
White is that one color that makes an outfit feel crisp, clean, and chic. Although white is considered a neutral, it stands out in a crowd by always being the first flash of color others see. I love pairing it with black because of the stark contrast the two create in complement of one another. For instance, I paired this dress from The Kooples with a moto faux leather jacket from Express.
Mixing styles and colors regardless of the time of year is what I like to do best. I respect individuality and personal style choices more than any fashion “rule” or trend out there. I’m a firm believer that rules should be broken. The moral of the story here is that white belongs in any season and we should never let anyone’s faux pas tell us otherwise!
